April Fools: Sushi Cupcakes!

Those aren't sushi-rolls, that's cupcakes!

For these cupcakes, you will need:

These cupcakes were super simple to make, and although not a perfect representation of sushi, the person they were made appreciated the effort.

After baking the cupcakes, I frosted them with vanilla frosting and added a layer of shredded coconut to look like rice.

I then cut up the gummy bears to represent the fish and other things you'd find in sushi and added a blue ring around the gummy bears. Green would have been better, to look more like a wasabi sauce, but I was out of green food coloring.

These cupcakes were super simple and super fun to make!

April Fools Cupcakes: Spaghetti and Meatballs!

*this post contains affiliate links*

Let's have some fun with our food, shall we?
I recently saw a mom-friend sharing all the fun April fools pranks she played on her kids during meal times, the food imposters she came up with her adorable! I also made some cupcakes to look like Spaghetti and meatballs, and it was such a fun treat! These decorations are really simple and would be the perfect activity for even the youngest kitchen helpers.

To start out, I baked and frosted cupcakes using a store-bought mix.

Then I made some of the frosting a light yellow color, to look like pasta noodles! I filled a ziplock back with the frosting and cut a very tiny hole in the bottom corner of the bag and piped the yellow frosting onto the cupcakes to look like a pile of noodles.

After that, I added some strawberry jam onto the noodles to resemble the marinara sauce.

Then, added a few candy whopper's to the top to look like meal balls, and added some shaved white cheddar to the top to look like parmesan cheese and served it in a baking dish.

These cupcakes were really fun and really easy to make!

A perfect dish for April Fools.
