Movie Review: Nacho Libre

Today I devote this review to one of my most favorite movies (ever!).  Believe it or not, I was first introduced to this movie by a camp speaker. Not being a fan of Jack Black, I was shocked! However, since a camp speaker mentioned it during a devotional it couldn't be that bad could it? At the end of the 2007 summer season we decided it was time to give the movie a try! So, my family rented it and watched it together. I LOVED it! My mother, ... yeah... I'm not sure she appreciated it. Fast forward about a year. I was finishing up my last semester of my undergrad, my love was finishing up his last couple of classes, working full time, staying involved in our local assembly, and oh yeah. ... we were getting MARRIED  towards the end of December (You know, 5 days after graduation). Nacho Libre became our escape from the stress of it all. Every week we would watch Nacho Libre at least once.  It has been the influence of both of my husbands blog titles, and the most quoted movie of our marriage. ....  ... We LOVE this movie! I tell you all of this to be very clear that this review is completely biased.

Review:
Release Date: June 16, 2006 (My Sister's Birthday!)
Rating: PG

The Movie:
According to Wikipedia, this movie is based on a real life priest who had a secret career as a wrestler (luchador) in Mexico.

The movie is a comedic spin on life in the Catholic Orphanage. It shares the financial struggles, and the willingness of the priest to follow his dream (of being a famous luchador) and providing for the childrens (children)

If you are looking for a movie that will cause your sides to ache from laughter, then this is it! If you are looking for a movie that is going to stimulate your brain, and cause you to debate issues back and forth with your friends. ... this movie is NOT for you.
