Money Saving Wife of a Grad Student.

While I have been recovering from my Wisdom Teeth, I've been thinking a lot about how we can save more money! It might be that I watched every episode of "Extreme Couponing" on Netflix. ... But, it might also be that I actually enjoy organizing and saving money.

I had been doing really well with budgeting and saving money until last November. A couple of days after Thanksgiving we went on a 7 day cruise to celebrate our 3 year wedding anniversary. After that, we went to San Francisco for training seminar. While we were away, a couple of things happened.

1) I realized my need to give up some of my unhealthy habits and start exercising.
2) I fell off of the couponing wagon.

Well friends, I'm back!

On Sunday I walked to the corner store (sshhh... don't tell my oral surgeon) and picked up a paper.
I have clipped coupons, organized them and am now skimming through some sale ads looking for deals.

I'm not one of those crazy coupon ladies that buy a million boxes of something because it's free. Seriously, I'm more of a stock up on items we use every day and try and save as much money as possible. I don't clip coupons for items that I know we will never use, and I don't buy items that I know will take me off track.

Secretly, I think I want to bring out our bill down enough so that I can register for more runs. ... Just a thought.

Anyway, do any of you coupon?

I went to CVS to try my hand at some couponing.

Total spent: 30.46
Total saved: 30.52

See, I saved 50%!

The BEST deal was getting 2 bottles of a multi-vitamin for 3.00.

How did I do it?  Well. ...

First, these vitamins were BOGO (Buy one, Get One).
First, purchase the two bottles at 9.99 (originally 9.99 each)
Then, use your CVS printer coupon that saves you 5.00 on a 10.00 vitamin purchase.
THEN, use the (2) 1.00 off coupons you found of the top of the bottle.

Giving you a total discount of 7.00 in coupons.

Pretty fun huh?

Have you gotten any great deals on healthy items lately?

I'll love you forever I'll like you for always as long as I'm living my baby you'll be  Robert Munsch It see...
