What is your favorite sport?
To do: Running
What is your favorite race distance and why?
13.1. I am still not where I want to be pace-wise at this distance, it still scares me a little, and every race is a challenge for me. I work through a lot of mental blocks during those 13.1 miles and when I want to quit, push through. It gives me the strength I need for day to day life issues.
How long have you been running?
Since August 2010
What advice would you give you someone who has never run a race before?
Do NOT believe you can't do it, it's too far or too hard. You can do more than you believe you can. Also, trust your body and your training. It is so easy to get caught up with the event, those around and not pay attention to your body and pace which will tire you out quickly.
What is your favorite race memory?
Crossing the finish line at my first half marathon. At mile 11 I threw a mental hissy fit, was tired, didn't want to be running anymore, etc. I kept going, I was tired... but as I came into the finish, saw everyone cheering, saw that finish line, I felt amazing and strong and invincible. I was on a runner's high for days after that.

What are you most thankful for this Holiday Season?
My health, my family, my dogs. This has been an amazing year for me. I did not 1 but 4 half marathons (2 more scheduled: Nov 18th and Dec 15th), celebrated my 1 year wedding anniversary, bought my first home. I am thankful for everything and everyone that got me here.
One of my best friend's told me "HOPE: Hang On, Pain Ends". I guess it isn't really inspirational, but I use it while racing, and it holds true in all areas of life. Every time I want to quit, think it's too hard, or something similar, I hear her telling me this. It gets me through everything.
