A Sporty Little Christmas - Mindy

Source: google.co.uk via Debbie on Pinterest

The above quote reminds me of my next GGSA Spotlight. Since my early days of blogging about Running, Mindy has been there and she is always encouraging me through her blog. Currently, she is training for a MARATHON and I might have the opportunity to meet her face to face in January at Disney's Marathon Weekend. I'm really hoping our schedules allow it.

What is your favorite sport?
I am a runner through and through! I started running in an attempt to lose weight after having my babies. I never dreamed that I would fall in love with it!

What is your favorite race distance (and why)?
I've run 5K's, 10K's Half and Full Marathons. My favorite distance is the half marathon! I love running long, slow distances and the half is long enough for not as rigorous on you body I've done 12 half marathons so far so that's proof that I love that distance! :-)

How long have you been running?
3 years

What advice would you give to readers who have never run a race?
Train! Use a training program and stick to it as much as you can. Being prepared and training wise will make race day far less stressful. Also...don't run too fast... pace yourself to have the energy to finish!

What is your favorite race memory?
My favorite race memory has to be running the Disney Half Marathon for the first time! Everything about that experience was magical...seeing all the characters and running through Cinderella's castle was unforgettable!

What are you most thankful for this Holiday Season?
I am most thankful for a God who loves me no matter what! He is always there for me! I am also thankful for my wonderful family and my ability to RUN!

Favorite Christmas Movie?
  • Miracle of 34th Street
  • Elf
