A little "Bump"date

I've thought long and hard about this update, and the only way I could imagine organizing it would be in a FAQ format. So, hold on tight! Here we go.

How far along are you?
I am 15 weeks and 2 days along. According to the What to Expect application, Baby is roughly the size of an Avocado.

How are you feeling?
I feel very blessed to report that I have not had any real sickness. Other than being a little more tired than usual, and hungry (all the time) I feel wonderful.

Weight Gain?
I am currently 7 pounds below my pre-pregnancy weight. No, we are no longer concerned about my body's decision to lose weight. I am not trying to lose weight, it's just happening.

Can you feel the baby?
YES!!! I feel flutters every so often. The first time I felt it, I was completely freaked out. Now, ... I'm obsessed! I just want to feel it all the time.

So far I have had a LOT of people tell me "That's a girl belly" and "Your eyes say girl". However, I'm not convinced.

When do you find out what you are having?
We have our next ultrasound in late August.

How has exercise changed?
It's getting harder to motivate myself but I know it's best for me and the baby so that kind of motivates me.

What's next?
Up next is figuring out where to register, and how to reveal the gender of Baby Jimenez!

So there you have it! Our update of Baby Jimenez!

Fitness Friday!! - July

Since I'm back in the weekly chase, I decided to put myself back on track with my fitness Friday! I'm still in Tampa for VBS so this is coming from my phone. Feel free to excuse any typos. :)

Now that we are expecting, my husband and I have been super motivated to exercise. I wish I would begin craving vegetables or something... But I hear the beginning is the hardest to eat right. Hopefully... I did crave a salad the other day so of course I went right out to chick fil a and bought it! (It was delicious!)

Now onto my fitness!!

- up and down the stairs for about an hour while packing the car. (It was exhausting, and got my heart rate up so it counts - right?)

- walked around the mall

- 20 minute of lap swimming
- mall (4) hours of walking

- 20 minutes of lap swimming

- the zoo (lots of walking)

- going to ikea (more walking)
- will swim tonight again

There you have it! My fitness for the week.

How have you moved your body this week??

Pinterest Tested! - S'more Craving Satisfied.

Last week about 4 different people pinned the most amazing looking S'more dip I'd ever seen. Now, my whole pregnancy I haven't exactly had late night cravings or been eating crazy things like pickles and ice cream. The closest thing to a craving I've had is the desire for Cuban food at every meal. - But, if I don't get it I'm fine. HOWEVER, that s'more dip made my stomach growl out of nowhere. Just to be sure it was something I really wanted I waited 3 days before indulging. I figured, if after 3 days I'm still  thinking about gooey marshmallows, warm chocolate and a crispy graham cracker crunch it was time to treat myself!

Before I get started - let me give you the source for the S'more dip. I originally found it on Pinterest, but then tracked the source back to the Bake-a-holic Mama! "S'more Crack Dip"

Recipe Review.

Difficulty of Instructions.
Extremely easy (kid friendly!)

Difficulty of Recreating.
Let's be honest for a moment. Who hasn't looked at a recipe on Pinterest and thought "That's SO EASY" and then in about five minutes realize every dish in your kitchen is filthy and although the taste of the recipe seems like it should be right there is NO way you'd ever take an instagram worthy photo...  I mean, it happens to me ALL the time. I once tried to use bar soap to make body wash (that was a disaster!)... Sometimes the things we find on pinterest are NOT as easy as described.

This is not the case with this recipe! It was so easy and took only about 10 minutes from start to finish!!

Delicious! My sister, husband and I devoured the pan in about 10 minutes.

Obviously this s'more dip doesn't give the same taste as a campfire s'more and you didn't get to play with fire to create a perfect summer snack. BUT, it DID satisfy this pregnant lady's craving for a s'more.

So, thank you Bakaholic Mama for sharing your wonderful recipe!

Please enjoy our proof photos, and let me know if you've ever tried this or a similar recipe!

Disclaimer. I didn't actually make this. My wonderful husband made it while I watching the Amazing Race!

Weekly Chase! - I'm BACK!

I am so happy to back on the Weekly Chase!! The last couple of Weekly Chases, you may have noticed I was always making the goal of "resting". Well, I finally figured out why I just couldn't keep up with my normal routine. Then it was too early to share my news with the world, so I just took a little break from blogging. Well, i'm BACK (and so are my energy levels!)

So, here's my weekly chase!

Road Runner Girl

As always, the Weekly Chase links up with Mindy and Molly. Please remember to check thier blogs for more great chases!

  1. Meet my calorie goal. - Although I haven't been sick (thank the Lord!), I don't have a very big appetite so sometimes its hard for me to meet my calorie goal. I plan to check in my using My Fitness Pal.
  2. Walk or Run 2 days this week - We are on "vacation" this week, so it might be a little difficult.
Baby Jimenez Prep!
  1. Spend as much time as possible with Prince Charming! - Not hard, but much needed. This week we are on vacation. But, it's more of a working vacation because my husband was asked to speak at a VBS in Tampa. So, we are staying with my sister and exploring some of my old stomping grounds from childhood.
  2. Shop - My belly popped the other day so I need to start finding work appropriate clothes that will fit over my belly.
That's it. Just 4 goals for the week. What are your goals for the week?

Anyone remember this post?

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would not be able to run the Goofy Challenge in 2014. I had my training schedule planned out, I had prepared myself for what life would be like in the Fall with my husband working full time and interning. I had committed to completing the 30 day shred during the month of May to build muscle before I began Goofy training. I had begun planning meals for our new schedule.  What I did not plan for was a positive pregnancy test.

So when that little word "pregnant" popped up, I went through the range of emotions (excited, scared, happy, totally freaked out, extremely happy, nervous, happy, excited)

Then the Lord got a hold of me.

Jeremiah 29:11
I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out - plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.

Sometimes you can plan, and plan and PLAN but you just you can't plan for everything. Sometimes the Lord has a different direction for your life.

I am very excited about this new phase of life. I didn't think it was possible to love my husband any more than I already do. However, when he thanks the Lord for our baby, and prays for our health each day my heart absolutely melts and I wonder if there is anything more beautiful in life than our conversations with Christ. (sorry, that was pretty sappy!)

I am blessed - very blessed.

Any of your plans change lately?

In case you missed it... Prince Charming and I are expecting our first child in January (Story Here!)!! We are SO excited!! I am currently 12.5 weeks along, and for those of you who like to count... That puts me due a little less than a week after the Goofy Challenge.

So, my dreams of Goofy have been changed. As much as I'd LOVE to run 13.1 miles on Saturday and then 26.2 on Sunday, I have to defer until 2015. During my first appointment the doctor asked me those loaded questions....

"So, is this a good time for you to be having a baby?" - ABSOLUTELY!

"What's going on in your life right now, that might be a concern" - Well, I'm about to begin training for a Marathon Challenge. (pause) it's in January.  haha I LOVE that the Doctor looked at me straight in the eye and said "You're going to need to defer that" I wish it stopped there. She then followed up with (to Prince Charming) "You'll need to defer as well".  We definitely laughed out loud after that conversation!

Anyways!! I'm really trying to keep my blog a healthy lifestyle / fitness blog. However, I'm REALLY excited that I have been given the gift and responsibility of being a mom. The Lord has been very good to me, and I feel completely blessed! Sooo, please bear with me as I share how we shared our news with the world!

The Parents

Chris' Parents - We met them at Starbucks for coffee, and let them unwrap a "mothers / fathers day gift"  They were of course SO excited!

My Parents - We skyped with my parents and just showed them my baby blanket. There were a LOT of technology / sound issues so it was a little disappointing but totally worth it to SEE their reactions.

 The Elder's of our Church
We attend a very small church and are very close with the Elders. So we wanted to share the news with them early. Mostly because we felt we needed people we could talk too, and pray for us and just be on our team during the early stages of pregnancy. The announcements weren't creative (at all) it was basically just a conversation followed by lots of stories, hugs and prayers!

The Siblings

My siblings - I called them and did some small talk for about two seconds and then said "well, you're going to be an aunt!" OF COURSE there was screaming and "really?"  (Except Dana, who says "like a fur baby or human baby?")

Chris' siblings - Alexis was preparing to go on a mission trip to Poland, and Joe was about to go to camp for the summer so we framed it as "sibling dinner before you leave". We had a lovely dinner (I ate a whole bowl of Olive Garden Salad) and then after dinner Chris says "speaking of parents, we're going to be parents" ...

Joe's reaction - Fist Pumps, Clapping and Cheers
Alexis' reaction - Through the tears "Are you for real? Don't LIE TO ME!"

Oh how I love these people I call my siblings!

We went to dinner with some friends and during the prayer for the meal Chris casually mentions Baby Jimenez. ... By the end of dinner the whole pregnancy / showers / gender reveal was planned.

Chris was scheduled to speak on Wednesday at Chapel. So, he spoke and then as done every prayer meeting, prayer requests were given and written on the board. Right before he sat down he wrote "Baby Jimenez" in the praise section.

Now the whole world knows ... because last night we put it on Facebook!!!

I have never in the history of Facebook recieved so much love. I'm completely blown away by all the love and encouragement we have recieved!

Baby Jimenez, you are SO loved!

The Happiest Birthday Surprise!

On May 21st, 2013 my Prince Charming celebrated a birthday. I was very tired the night before so I went to sleep around 8:00 p.m. When I woke up at 4:30 a.m., I waited (kind of) patiently for Prince Charming to wake up and go to breakfast with me.

We enjoyed breakfast at the local cuban cafe, and I enjoyed my last cup of cafe con leche. At this point I was suspecting I might be pregnant, but not willing to believe it. We had tried for many years, and I was ready to move on, train for my marathon and let God decide when HE wanted us to have a child.

After breakfast we went to work for a few hours and then, ... we went to lunch! So, here's the fun part! ready??

I had lunch with 5-guys AT 5-guys! Yep, we celebrated a birthday lunch with some of our dear friends at one of our favorite burger joints! After lunch we went back to work, and I watched the clock... I couldn't wait for the clock to strike 5 so we could go to CVS!

We live VERY close to a LOT of people we know and love. These people all share a Publix and a CVS with us.

End Pause.

So, we arrived at CVS and snuck into the store trying our very best not to be discovered. Unfortunately... EVERY SINGLE PREGNANCY TEST WAS SOLD OUT!  So, we snuck over to Publix!

Thankfully, we didn't get caught.

Right before I tested, I paused.

I prayed that I would accept the answer no matter what. I prayed that no matter what the answer, God would be with us.

So, ... fast forward through the TMI part.

I'm pretty sure I froze. At that moment, all I could do was remind myself "breath in, breath out". I finally let out a yelp, or scream, or ...some type of noise and burst into tears. Prince Charming ran in and asked me what the answer was.  Not able to say it outloud I handed him the test.

We both hugged, cried and thanked God for the beautiful gift.

The Fourth of July 2013

The Fourth of July was so epic, it almost feels like it was a dream. Seriously, I had a wonderful day and I'm SO excited to share about it!

Prince Charming set out all his Red, White and Blue running gear the night before. Bright and early he got up and went for 4+ mile run. It was actually pretty fun because he ran to our friends home and took a picture in their front yard and texted it to them.  He came home and we enjoyed breakfast together.

Around 11:30 we went over to our friends house (the one's Prince Charming texted earlier that day) for a Pinterest Party! All the "young" people gathered to put together the food and hang out before the "adults" arrived.  I always smile when we are considered the "young" crowd! Anyway, we made Fireworks with Watermelon and Blueberries!

How we did it!

1) Cut the Watermelon thinly
2) Use a cookie cutter to make Stars
3) Add blueberries onto a Toothpick
4) Put the toothpick onto the star

Another snack we made (not pictured)

Red, White and Blue covered Strawberries.

How we did it!
1) Cut the stems off of the strawberries
2) Paint marshmallow frosting on the strawberries
3) Dip the strawberries in blue sugar

Once the Pinterest part of the day was done, we spent the rest of the afternoon grilling, playing games and just having fun!

Create an American Image using Play-doh.

Disclaimer, I did not make this one. I am not that talented. Mine was actually SO bad that I didn't even take a picture.

Some of the things that were created were, Eagles, Apple Pies, Lady Liberty, The Liberty Bell and Hot Dogs!

1) Gather into team of four people each
2) Put a spoon in your mouth
3) Carry a piece of ice to the end and back (without dropping it)
4) Win!

This game was actually a little more difficult than it looks! Let's face it! We are in MIAMI, in JULY! ICE MELTS!! The ice was hard to keep in the spoon because it was so melted.

My team won by the way!

We also had some very festive decorations.

Laura wanted everyone to know that she came up with this on her own, she didn't even look at Pinterest for an idea.

However, I think it's FABULOUS and Laura has given me permission to share it with the world!

How she did it!

1) 3 Red Roses
2) 1 American Flag
3) Water - dyed blue with food coloring

Super easy, and super cute!

Prince Charming and I went home around 5:00 p.m. to walk the dogs and do some chores around the house.

I ended up taking a nap though. -

We met up again with our friends to watch some fireworks and ended up having dinner at Moes! It was a beautiful day fill with friends old and new. I hope all of you had a beautiful day with your family and friends!

Monsters University Date Night

I've mentioned this before, but Prince Charming is in his very last semester of classes for his Graduate Program (*Happy Dance!*). Honestly, I remember not too long ago when we were crunching numbers and planning how our lives would be when he took the plunge and applied for Graduate School. Now, he's almost done!

Praise the Lord, we have almost made it!

Anyway, since it's his last semester of classes he's been a little stressed and we haven't gone on a date in far too long we decided it was time to use up the movie passes we got for Christmas and go see Monsters University!

We were SUPER excited for our date, we got all dressed up and everything.

Since it's summer, and it was raining I had a feeling the theater would be pretty packed. So, we went and purchased our tickets and then headed out to try a nearby Pizza place. (Anthony's Coal Fire Pizza) We ordered a small cheese pizza, and a sample of the wings. - It was delicious! Prince Charming and I are HUGE fans of pizza, and this was a treat for us. Due to the way it's cooked, the pizza has a different flavor. I don't know that I'd be able to eat it all the time but it was definitely worth it.

After dinner we made our way back to the theater and waited for the doors to open for our showing.

At 6:00 p.m. Prince Charming, about 100 children with their families and I settled into the theater for the film! Honestly, you would have thought the movie has just opened. It was packed! I happen to enjoy a packed theater, I feel like the energy and excitement adds to the experience.

Prince Charming and I LOVED the movie. It was funny, it was creative and it made me smile. (Classifications for a great movie!)

Question: Do you schedule date nights with your significant other?
Have you seen Monsters University?

Is Robert is Here really the Disney World of Fruit Stands?

After your visit to the Everglades National Park in Homestead, you are not  going to want to miss Robert is Here.   Located not too far fro...
