5 Tips for Staying Hydrated!

If you follow my blog, or know me personally. You know how seriously I take hydration. Well, as you can imagine, when I found out I was pregnant I went a little crazier about water intake. I couldn't help it - water is just so important!

So here are my five tips for staying hydrated. These tips have helped me stay hydrated when I was on my weight loss journey (pre-pregnancy) and on my current journey (Pregnancy!)

Tip 1: Start your day with a glass of water.  Especially during pregnancy, I find when I first wake up a glass of water is so refreshing! Also, during my weight loss journey I found that a glass of water helped keep me from sugary cereals and other bad breakfast choices! 
Tip 2: Set a Goal  Make a goal - if you are a Type-A personality (love checklists, agenda's and planning) creating a goal for your water intake can be a great motivator!

It's that time again. Time to link up with Mindy and Molly to share my goals, and then chase them!

How did I do?

Health Goals

1) Stretch and Roll my calf muscles each night - not every night - but I did get rid of the soreness from that pesky leg cramp.

2) Walk 1 mile on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday - Walked on Monday, ran on Saturday (it was raining on Tuesday and Thursday + a cool front so I was trying not to get sick).

3) Drink plenty of water - Yes! I've been able to maintain about 100 ounces of water a day. I feel best when I'm hydrated.

Home Goals
1) Put away my laundry - DONE!

2) Write in my pregnancy journal ... HAHAHA Nope!


This week, begins the final stage of pregnancy.

Trimester 3. You know, it's the fun part - you start to see little tiny socks and bathtubs for tiny people. You get distracted when you walk by your guest room and see that your guest bed was traded in for a crib ... a CRIB?  People are throwing you showers, …

Week 27 - Bumpdate!

How did this happen? How am I already in the very last week of Trimester 2? It feels like only a few days ago that we were celebrating my husbands birthday, and that little word "Pregnant" on the home test!

That little glimmer I saw on the ultrasound screen on June 5th, has grown into an estimated two pound baby girl! I might be a little biased, but I'm pretty sure she's GORGEOUS!

So on to the bumpdate!

Baby Size
According to my pregnancy emails, Baby Girl is about the size of a head of cauliflower and weighs roughly two pounds.

How are you feeling?
That wonderful question that everyone wants to know. Here's how I've been feeling.
All things considered, I feel great. I have no real complaints. What are "all things"? My belly is much bigger, and due to the changes in my body I tire more quickly. It's hard for me to accept that sometimes carrying my purse up the stairs to my condo is exhausting. - I understand WHY, I just don't like it.  Anothe…

Pretty Muddy & Weekly Chase!

This Saturday Prince Charming and I had the opportunity to volunteer with Pretty Muddy at the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event in Miami! We arrived bright and early around 5:45 a.m. and made our way through the sea of tents to the Pretty Muddy tent. It took us quite a while to find the Pretty Muddy tent. Mostly because I had NO idea how large the health expo was going to be so I didn't really look at the map. After about 20 minutes of walking around, we pulled up the map and quickly located Meg!

Meg greeted us, gave us a couple of quick tips and sent us on our way to spread the word about Pretty Muddy! As race time approached, the crowd grew and was simply vibrant! I was so inspired as I walked around and saw so many survivors, supportive family members, friends and information booths. It was the largest health expo i'd ever seen at a race before!



At first it was hard to pass out the flyers about Pretty Muddy. Mostly because I'm super shy - and I have to really work …

Weekly Chase! 10/7/13

How was your weekend? I had a really productive weekend at home. I finally got that giant pile of laundry folded and I think Prince Charming woke up and realized we are having a baby. - Because, I think he was nesting.

In one afternoon he cleaned out the babies room, glued the loose boards on the floor, put together the closet (a few times with a few trips to Home Depot), changed the battery in the smoke detector, and changed the faucets on two sinks.

So, nesting is not only real - it has hit my family.

On Sunday we celebrated Prince Charming's Great Grandmother's 100th Birthday! It was so beautiful to see her surrounded by family and so happy.  Isn't she the cutest?



So, now that you know about my weekend - let's recap my week!

Weekly Chase. 

1) Walk 4 days. - Only walked once.
2) Fold the mountain of clothing - DONE!
3) Have Fun! - Yes.

Unrequited love...

Unrequited love. 
You know, that one-sided love that makes a good romantic comedy? I'm beginning to believe that my love for the Tower of Terror 10-miler is a little one sided, and here's why. 


2012 - The inaugural 10-miler... I wanted to go SO badly. Prince Charming and I had recently started running and we weren't sure if we were able to actually do a 10-miler. When we finally got the courage to register it was sold out. Sooo, at around midnight the night of the inaugural 10-miler my husband and I were still awake, reading all the tweets, looking at all the instagram pictures wishing SO badly that we were there. ... and then... my husband says to me "We're going next year, we just HAVE TO!" 

February 2013, we were at the Expo for our very first half marathon and while everyone was all excited about pre-registering for the Wine and Dine Prince Charming and I registered for the TOT 10-miler.

A Storybook Squat Challenge!

It's hard to believe that I'm almost in my 3rd trimester of pregnancy. I've still been running and walking a few times per week, and doing squats off and on - but I haven't been dedicated. So, how do I get dedicated? ... I start a challenge of course!
