Review: Lyft Clean Caffeine

Disclaimer: I was given the opportunity to review Lyft Clean Caffeine as part of my ambassadorship with Fit Approach. The expressed opinions are my very own.

When I received the email about the opportunity to review Lyft Clean Caffeine, I was quite excited. I'm about to begin Marathon Training, and am always looking for energy supplements that are more natural and healthy for your body.

Since I'm allowed 1 coffee a day (due to breastfeeding), I didn't think it would be an issue to try the product. However, when the product arrived and it explicitly stated on the label "not recommended for pregnant or nursing mothers" I was disappointed.

Since the website and packaging clearly state that it's not recommended for pregnant or nursing mothers, I asked my husband to test it for me with 1 stick, and  I'm going to try it after I'm done nursing.

So, here is the info.

1.  Lyft is all natural caffeine
2.  Loaded with vitamins to be used as a source for vibrant energy

How to use?

The product is super easy to use. Just gather 8 ounces of your chosen beverage (I used water), peel back the stick and viola! You've just made yourself a clean refreshing drink! - My husband found that it did slightly change the taste of the water, but it wasn't bad.

The cool thing about this product, is that you don't have to add it ONLY to water. If you want a little boost of caffeine in the morning, but don't necessarily want a coffee, this product can be added to a glass of juice.

Be sure to check out their website for more ideas on how to mix it up!

Vibrant Energy?
My husband said that he could definitely  feel the boost, and actually did a personal best with both the 1k and 1 mile.

He did wish he had run longer because he said he had a lot more energy to burn.

So, there you have it. Lyft Clean Caffiene, an all natural energy drink.

Thanks again Lyft and Fit Approach for the opportunity to try and review this product!

Little Lady goes to Disney: Lunch Tips

Since Little Lady is only 4 months old, and the sun is quite intense, we were sure to book dining reservations for the hottest part of the day (usually around 2-3)

It was great to get out of the sun and enjoy a meal each day!

Epcot: Bier Garten

In Epcot we ate in Germany at the Bier Garten. It's an all you can eat buffet and the drinks (non-spirited) are included.

We enjoyed the delicious food and our little lady enjoyed the show! We spent close to two hours in that restaurant!

Hollywood Studios: Mama Mel Rose

For Hollywood Studios we tried Mama Melrose and it was fabulous! We ended up upgrading to the "VIP dining experience" which included a seat for the fantasmic show and later found that for 37.99 per person we each got an appetizer, an entre (we had steak) and a dessert sampler. I was pretty excited that the drinks were also included in that price!

So, another long lunch out of the sun was enjoyed! If you are going to Hollywood Studios, I recommend that package for dining, it was great to see the show from a seat, center stage! Especially after a long day of walking around with a 10+ pound little lady.

Magic Kingdom: Beast Castle
It is next to impossible to get reservations at Beast Castle for dinner. I lucked out on reservations last December when my love took me to Disney for a pre-baby/anniversary/birthday trip and we loved it!

So, I called Disney to (try to)get reservations for lunch. Then, I learned that Beast Castle does quick service for lunch, so you wait in line (like you would anywhere else) order and eat!

By the time we were ready for lunch, the wait was only about 20 minutes so we were able to have lunch in the ac at Magic Kigdom as well!

Okay... One thing I will note is that the line for this is in the DIRECT sunlight. Disney being fabulous had cast members walking up and down the line with umbrellas for the babies and elderly guests first, and other guests were offered next. As a mom with a fair skin baby, I was thankful!

Another detail was the ice water coolers they set out for guests in line. It was much appreciated to be able to have a glass of iced water with lemon while we waited for out turn to eat.

If you go, try the grey stuff it's delicious!

Little Lady goes to Disney: Part 1

What do you pack for a trip with a 4 month old?

Your entire house...

Seriously, when we went for an overnight trip to my parents last month I thought we took a lot.

Then I started packing for 4 days at Disney with our 4 month old...

What. In. The. World?!?!?!!

It's totally worry it, and I KNOW I will never regret building these memories (that only my husband and I will remember).

Here is a peak into my purse.

Haha, had to check and be sure I put my wallet in there!

I'm looking forward to creating memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

When was your first trip to Disney?

Clean Eats, What's your favorite?

Does anyone else struggle with healthy eating goals?

Here's the thing, I like healthy food. I enjoy fruits, and veggies and chicken or fish. The only trouble, I never seem to want to prepare them, so we settle for something quick like spaghetti and meat balls, or some other quick meal.

I saw these zucchini boats on Katrina's blog, and thought to myself ... "I can make that!" and I did! It was excellent!!

So, shout out to her for inspiring me to make something healthy!

What are your favorite healthy and quick dishes?

Dear Little Lady

A letter I wrote to my daughter on our first Mother's Day together (1.11.14)

Dear Little Lady,

Today you fell asleep on my chest after you had your first meal of the day. You snuggled in so tenderly and I could feel your every breath.

Between your breaths of slumber, I felt you move and heard you whimper. I know you must be dreaming, but at 4 months old, I'm not certain what about.

Perhaps you see angels in your sleep, or maybe you are remembering all of the fun times we've shared. Are you writing lists of things you want to try? Like walk or stand or eat or crawl?

I'll never know what you dreamt, in that moment where time stood still. I do know that I'll always pray that your dreams will feel to big so your faith can be made strong.

For you were once a dream, a dream that made my faith strong. I didn't know what I was in for, on that afternoon late last May.

Our journey together has taught me to pray more fervently, and love more deeply than I will ever be able to put into words.

I have loved you since the moment I knew you existed, and I'll love you for the rest of eternity.

I'm so thankful that God has given me the gift of being your mommy.

Happy first Mother's Day to my dream come true.

Post Baby Running

I'm finally back out there running on a regular basis, and I have a few thoughts about it.

1) Not only did pregnancy change my life, it changed my stride.

2) Priorities change. I'm trying really hard to stay focused with my running, but really I know I'm going back to work soon and I don't want to "give up" time with little lady to run.

3) I need to run. Soooo, as valid as the above... I need to run so that I can be a better mom.

Truth is, being the primary care giver for little lady is exhausting and sometimes you just need to be alone.

Still working on the whole balance thing.

How do you super moms do it?

Spoiled Mom.

I have to say, I'm feeling pretty spoiled right now.

My husband brought home a Macbook Air for me. I've wanted a Macbook...!

Now, I have one, and I'm in love. It's so cute, and I love it!!!

I'm currently looking for a protective case on amazon for it. I think i'm going to go with a light blue or sea foam green case. I might get a pink, but ... probably not.

How have you been spoiled lately?

Monday, May 5, 2014

Sometimes, you just know something's not right.

I started a training plan with Nike Plus with every intention of pushing through no matter what. Unfortunately, little lady came down with her very first sickness. ...

An ear infection.

Last week was rough, I spent most of the week watching her symptoms trying to decide if it was "just teething" or "just her acid reflux". When babies are that little it's hard to tell sometimes...

I called her pediatrician (in tears) because she just seemed to be in so much pain, and he saw her right away. Within a few moments, he confirmed my suspicion that she had an ear infection.

Needless to say, my training plan has suffered.

My darling is starting to feel better and I'm pretty sure we are both getting spoiled with all the cuddles.

New Moms, trust your intuition. Don't be afraid to call the pediatrician, especially if you feel in your heart that something's wrong.

p.s. I may not have run the last 4 days, but I finally got my nails filed.  Next step,... paint them!

Is Robert is Here really the Disney World of Fruit Stands?

After your visit to the Everglades National Park in Homestead, you are not  going to want to miss Robert is Here.   Located not too far fro...
