MARATHON MONDAY: WDW Marathon Training Week 17

Happy Monday Pals!
I've been really focusing on two things the last couple of weeks.
1) Identifying the intervals I want to use for the Marathon.
2) Strong Core!  You can check some of my favorite workout routines on this post.

I had hoped to get down to the 12 - 13 minute per mile pace by the time we run the Marathon. Unfortunately, I just do see that happening. In order to improve my pace, I feel as though I need to really rebuild my core and get better sleep.

I can't do much about getting better sleep - with a 3, 2 and 1-year-old in the house sleep is precious and often interrupted.  I can, however, work on my core. So, I'm really focused on building my core and make the most of the runs. Instead of working to improve my time, I am working to improve my endurance.

Here are my Disney Inspired costumes for this weeks training runs.

On Thursday I was a Fireside Girl.
Inspired by Isabella from Phineas and Ferb, I used an orange Nike shirt and a black Sparkle Athletic skirt for my costume.

On Saturday, I was scheduled to run 5 miles. I'd intended to run all 5 miles, but was having such a fun-filled family weekend I opted to run 3 miles in the afternoon with a costume inspired by Dory.

My skirt was a black Sparkle Athletic Skirt, and I used my trusty blue Nike running shirt. I completed the look with a yellow ribbon in my hair.

I had such a beautiful run on Saturday. When I stopped focusing my effort on being FASTER, I found myself enjoying the runs again. After my HORRIBLE experience at my last Half Marathon in D.C., I've had to really do some soul searching and find balance with running and goals.

So, here we go! This week I plan to continue my focus on building my core and hydrating for the 16 miles I'll be running on Saturday morning!

Have a great Monday Friends!
